The Relevant Issues Section is pleased to announce a project aimed at helping Seattleās Pioneer Square Clinic in the Pioneer Square Neighborhood, which serves over 1,000 homeless and low-income patients per month.
MLA 2012 attendees are invited to pack a little extra and bring along new socks and underwear, in all sizes, for both men and women. Extra toiletries from your hotel room may also be donated. A collection box will be set up in the registration area. Pioneer Square Clinic has served patients since 1971. Thanks for your contributions!
Great! It looks like maybe there are some drug stores like Walgreens less than a mile from the convention center, if people want to purchase the items instead of packing them. If the LAC has any specific recommendations on that front (i.e., this one’s hard to walk to, this one doesn’t carry socks/underwear, etc.), that would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Rachel. See Lisa Oberg’s post about Sundries in Seattle for convenient drug stores: http://npc.mlanet.org/mla12/?p=532
Thanks, very helpful!
