Welcome to Chicago!

Chicago is an ideal place for a conference. Chicago is a fun, vibrant, and energetic city with friendly residents, beautiful landscapes and lively culture. The Local Area Committee (LAC) is excited to be hosting guests in Chicago for Building Our Information Future.

We will be posting information about Chicago as the conference approaches so continue checking the blog! Subscribe to RSS feed to stay up to date.

Same Hotel, New Look

The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago’s Loop and you can already make reservations.  While this is this same location as the previous conferences, the Hyatt has a brand new look. It has recently updated its interior including a renovated lobby with interactive conference center maps. The LAC also tested wifi connection throughout the conference center with success!

Chicago

Chicago’s cityscape is an impressive combination of natural lakefront and towering skyscrapers.  Chicago’s lakefront is beautiful all year around, but particularly inviting during the the spring and summer. It is easily one of the best things about Chicago.

The lake front is steps from the Hyatt. Walk straight out the doors and keep heading east.

Chicago is visually impressive but the city offers something to suit everyone’s tastes.Chicago has booming culture of art, fine arts, architecture, sports, music, museums, and food (and drink). We’re the home of the blues, the first skyscraper, two baseball teams, SUE (from A Night at the Museum), 2013 Stanley Cup, and so much more. You can easily explore Chicago through the elevated “subway”, the EL.

Keep checking the blog! There will be more information about landmarks, events, activities and life in Chicago as the conference approaches.

See you in Chicago!
