The MLA’14 National Program Committee is looking for winning strategies that MLA members have used to obtain funding from their institutions or employers for an MLA annual meeting. Two prizes of $500 each will be awarded for the most original, interesting, and compelling “asks” for funding.
Submitting your strategy or story will help build a repository of tips, methods, and examples of how you and your colleagues were able to successfully secure institutional funding to attend MLA.
Entries can be submitted until midnight on January 31, 2014 Central time.
Winners will be notified by February 15, 2014, and the winning entries will be reported in the February 20, 2014, issue of MLA-FOCUS. All submissions will be displayed online and available for your fellow librarians to read and learn from. Please note: Your name will only be known to contest judges.
Also, please visit the Sources of Funding to Support MLA Attendance page to learn about opportunities for funding assistance.
A number of awards, honors, and scholarships are available to recognize our outstanding colleagues, support members and students with scholarships, and get financial support for meeting attendance. Deadlines are approaching soon, so nominate someone for an award or apply for a scholarship today!
Each year, members of the Medical Library Association honor individual achievements of high order in specific areas of librarianship.
